Every forum or discussion board needs rules and here a few basic rules I feel need to be followed to make this a pleasant experience for everyone!
1) Be nice to one another. Never tell a person you think they're writing is awful. It's unnecessary and if this happens you will be given two warnings before your account is banned.
2) Try to leave a post with one positive and one piece of criticism for each piece of writing you read. Two sentences at a minimum.
3) If you are going to post a novel post it chapter by chapter. This provides the writer with an in-depth criticism section by section rather than a vague one in response to an entire novel or novella.
4) When creating a new thread always title the thread with your story title along with an age rating. Inside the thread (for your piece of work) include a basic summary before the story in this format (with examples):
Genre: Urban Fantasy/YA
Age: 13+
Word count: 2,500
Tags/Warnings: magical elements, wizards trigger warning: abuse, bullying
Summary: Tom discovers that his lost memories were those of being a wizard
Further notes to readers: Thank you for taking the time to read this. I'm struggling with pacing and structure and any help would be great. Thank you.
5) For Fanfiction work you must include the Fandom in the thread title and the other rules still apply.
Age Ratings:
(Feel free to message me if you don't agree with the rules. I'm still in process of figuring it all out.)
