Okay, this is something I am worst at when writing (for example, I have 15k words of a Teen Wolf fanfiction sitting on my hard drive because I am too god damn lazy and unfocused to finish it despite knowing exactly what I want to do and where I want to go with it). Does anyone else have this problem? I'd like to use the excuse of 'writers block', but it's not writers block because I've been mentally planning and mapping for months, I just don't have the motivation to sit down and start writing. I have spells where I'll write 5k in a night and then not touch it again for four months, which is completely messing with the tone of the fic and the characterization. Does anyone have any tips for getting myself motivated (and staying motivated!)?

What motivates me is the ending. I always have a clear idea about how I want to it end, with some lines written out in preparation and an image of what happens and how the scene looks that I've been building up all the time I've been writing. So I want to get to *that*. Like rushing the meal to get to dessert.
Of course the problem with that is that the beginning and the middle suffer sometimes. But in this case maybe try writing a bit of your ending and seeing if that makes you want to plough through the middle?
Also - does it help if you re-watch Teen Wolf? I feel like writing when I've just read / watched something good.

Along the lines of what Chris said, one, re-watch Teen Wolf. I'd also suggest maybe reading other stuff in the area of what you're writing or within the fandom full stop.
Or maybe just write it, force yourself into writing it and hate every minute of it. But come back to it the next day and look over what you did. Then edit.?
Just a couple of ideas *shrugs*

I think forcing myself is my only option. I've watched the show so much that I could recite the thing and I have somewhere in the region of 500 teen wolf fanfictions on my iPad. I think it will be a case of sitting myself down and setting targets!

Keep an eye that forcing it doesn't hurt the quality though!

Something I've noticed I do, if I scroll to a random page and start reading, I quickly begin amending things. I'll also read something I've forgotten I've written and think to myself, that was good. This has a knock on effect of getting me in the mood to write. If you then go to the part of your story which you intend to write with the intention of just adding a few lines, you'll probably find you're still writing half an hour later and have written 3 or 4 pages.
